About Me

I'm a singer/songwriter currently based in the wonderful little city that is Derby. Although I've enjoyed singing solo for a while I'm now working with Dave Jeffries, a wonderful pianist and generally very talented musician (and a professional standard guinness consumer!) He's the man who brought 'Monseiur' alive.
As Dave is sickeningly talented he can also play the drums rather well. And I can also screech a bit and bounce around like a burlesque duracell bunny on a pogo stick. It was decided, for the good of the world, that I needed an outlet for all that energy. Enter ex 'Feuds' members Ben and Rob. Add Dave, me, a lot of caffeinated drinks and you get the new band.
We've discovered that we can write songs like nobody's business yet when it comes down to the business of a band name we're a little hopeless. So whilst we lock outselves in a room with nothing but whisky, a dictionary and a notepad until we finally emerge, triumphant, with a band name, theres a little rough taster of things to come on my myspace page - 'Pollyanna', 'Paranoia' and 'Polaric'. I do appear to like my 'P's! Its probably nothing like anything you've heard me do before - but enjoy!
Other projects: Makif (www.myspace.com/makifmusic) have now finished their debut album. I'm proud to say that I wrote the lyrics and melody to, and performed the vocals on 'Armour' and 'All I Really Need'.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Amy Scott - Vocals and guitar.
Dave Jeffries - Piano and backing vocals.
Influences: I believe that everything I ever hear and everything I ever experience feeds into my music. However, for the moment I'll focus only on musical influences :)

Imogen Heap has to be at the top of this list. She amazes me with not only her music but her pure passion, drive, enthusiasm and the desire to take risks and experiment - the source of her ingenuity.

I also admire and adore Nick Drake, Katie Jane Garside (both her solo material and the work of Queen Adreena), Ludovico Einaudi, Erykah Badu, Portishead, Damien Rice, Amos Lee, Kate Bush, Turin Brakes, Bjork, Kings of Convenience, Postal Service...the list goes on.

Sounds Like: Versatility and drive
Type of Label: Major
