About Me

Hiya.
The name's Tal. Short for Talmadge.
What can I say about myself in a nutshell? It's far too difficult to adequately describe one's own character inside and out in the confines of a mere Myspace profile, but then again, perhaps to try is to exert too much effort in vain. Nevertheless, I will do what I can in a concise manner.
I'm a lazy intellectual with few realistic ambitions and several wild dreams. As much as the idea of wowing the universe with the next great painting or the latest great album of our time appeals to me, these are goals that I don't foresee myself achieving, but may set out to do some fine day when enough willpower develops. For now I'm content with my one true release: writing. Some say it's a talent I have - I'll let you determine that for yourself.
I am mostly introverted but physically extroverted, if that makes sense. To clarify, I keep to myself for the most part, but cannot resist the urge to touch someone or something (not necessarily sexually) frequently.
Humorously perverse remarks, in-jokes, and otherwise backwards and confusing material comprise my comedic forte.
Music is a passion of mine. Sadly, I am currently neglecting to develop my own musical abilities, but I love to listen to nearly anything, even the bland mainstream material now and then - my tastes run the gamut. Live music is especially invigorating. Of all genres, I'd say industrial, industrial rock, and anything closely related are the most satisfactory. KMFDM basically owns my soul.
I am far from the epitome of masculinity. I adore small animals, cherish the color purple, and am often concerned with my appearance.. if only because I like to impress myself.
I collect video games and video game systems, state quarters, SoBe caps, and dust.
Religion and politics both upset me. I typically steer clear of religion in general - it's fun to study, but I hesitate to adhere to any particular following. Politics would be easier to embrace if not for all the mud-slinging, lies, and absence of true information on candidates readily accessible to the public. (But if we're in need of cold hard facts: Agnostic, and liberal.)
As of 2005 I've been diagnosed with celiac disease. I cannot have gluten, a protein found primarily in wheat, rye, barley, malt, etc. For a lack of a more eloquent way to describe it... it sucks, but I'm coping.
The mainstream is a terrible taint to the world, and the system is flawed beyond any repair that mere legislation or court order can adequately service. If you tune in to the radio and think that's all the music worth listening to, if you wear exclusively Abercrombie and Hollister because it's what everyone else does, if you think our country is run efficiently... wake up. Open your eyes. Cast your vote, question your surroundings, do your part to improve the world around you and not succumb to being weak and powerless. And don't defy convention merely for the sake of going against the flow - alternative conformity is still conformity. Expand your horizons and do what truly satisfies you without impeding others - be yourself.
