I'm a perpetual student. I graduated with my master's and now I'm applying to medical schools all over the country with hopes of becoming a pediatrician someday. I'm still involved in genetics research with the University of Nevada School of Medicine and am currently volunteering at the ER of a children's hospital. I also work at the State Health Division as a Developmental Specialist and provide rehabilitation and play therapy for infants and toddlers with disabilities. It breaks my heart to see medically fragile children who are two years old but have yet to learn to walk, talk, or even swallow food. I feel that I can do so much more for them than just educating them. They're the reason why I want to be a physician. :)
People often ask us when we're having kids. We've got so much going on right now that having kids is just going to have to wait (at least for another couple of years). I am blessed to be married to the most wonderful, caring, and amazing man and I'm so grateful that he's in this with me 100%. God-willing, I'm pretty sure it'll be worth the hard work and patience...it's simply a practice of DELAYED GRATIFICATION. =)
