About Me

Right now I am doing the most amazing thing ever! I am living a dream, and I am still in awe that God is allowing me to be a part of something so awesome. I am a missionary/student in Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico. I live in a big house with a missionary couple and a bunch of students my age. We take classes here at the University to learn Spanish, and I take classes .. through a University in the States. I am loving what God has called me to and where He has me at right now. It is so great to be in His will. I couldn't imagine doing anything else right now!!Layout made by Lost in a Jungle at CreateBlog.com .

My Interests

I like the smell of freshly fallen snow. I like the red sour patch kids, a good run on a cool day, and a warm bubble bath after a long week. I enjoy chocolate chip cookies that are crispy on the outside, but warm and gooey on the inside. I like finding the last one of something in the right size and color. I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee, a long talk with someone who I haven't seen in a long time, or a good cry with a close friend that I just needed to get out. I love a long hug that says I'm here for you, I'm not leaving soon, so just be. I like the look on my dogs' faces when I come home from a long trip. I love the feeling of seeing a large box at the front door with my name on it. I like the sound my cell phone makes when I get a text message. I love when I think of a great way to make somebody feel special. There's nothing like seeing a 100% on a Calculus test I was really prepared for. I like the answer you get when you ask a three year old why God loves them! I like hearing my favorite song on the radio, waking up to birds chirping in the woods behind my house, or getting a free gift card for being one of the first 50 customers at Chipotle. I absolutely love coming home from a long trip to my room being filled with balloons, candy, and big signs that shout WE LOVE YOU!! I love watching a friend open a birthday gift I know she will love. I like blessing the person behind me in the drive thru at my coffee place by paying for their coffee drink. I love the smell of a fire outside on a chilly summer night. I like the surprise I get when my paycheck is a little bigger than expected. I like when the person at the Target checkout asks me how my day is going. I like when I get to tell the person at the checkout about Jesus. I love the sound of children laughing because they don't know what the word stress means. There's nothing like the taste of mint chocolate chip ice cream in a waffle cone. I like to swing at a nearby park on a sunny day. I like to climb mountains and see the sunset from the top. I love long plane rides next to interesting people. I like to look at the clouds and see elephants and bikes and dragons and little girls with their dogs as if time never ends. I like when I'm running late for something, and there's an open parking spot in the first row. I like to play dodgeball until I'm the last one in and I win it for the team. I like the bus ride going to summer camps, especially making bracelets and singing along the way. I like to sing so loud in the shower that the mailman can hear... when no one is home of course. I like the feeling of "Aha" when I finally get something I've been stumped over for a long time. Even better, I like helping someone else get to that epiphany. I like to see the look in a girl's eyes when she finally understands that her worth doesn't come from what people say she is, or what she has done in the past, but who God says she is. I love hearing how God has changed someone's life because somebody didn't give up on them. I like hearing about miracles that God has done. I like hearing about someone's vision about what they believe God wants to do in and through them. I like being so inspired by what someone said that I just can't wait to begin my plan to change the world. I love sitting in the presence of God and knowing that there's nothing I can to do make God love me more, and there's nothing I can do to make God love me less.

I'd like to meet:

I would not only like to, but I know soon I will meet Jesus face to face. I can't wait!! :) I would like to actually meet Joyce Meyer in person, she is awesome!! Oprah would be another one, not for the same reasons as Joyce, obviously, but I would like to ask her some questions. Laura Bush is very inspiring, and I would enjoy having a cup of coffee with her too!!

Movies:

"Pamela's Prayer" Watch it. Love it. Embrace it. Live it. :) Seriously, people!! Carpool- you have to see it (Tom Arnold and David Paymer). It's an oldie but a goodie. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days is a fave as well. I of course loved Ocean's 11, probably more than Ocean's 12, but they're both awesome movies. Runaway Bride was adorable, made in the 90's, but great romatic comedy. Definitely more, but I like those a lot!!

Television:

Seinfeld and The Office are tied for first...when they aren't too dirty. I also like King of Queens and Everybody Loves Raymond. I also enjoyed Law and Order SVU, when I lived in the US, and of course, American Idol. Oh yeah, I like watching the Today Show. From time to time, I can catch parts on the website for the Today Show. Praise the Lord for the internet!!

Books:

The Bible would definitely have to be my number one book as the entire thing is inspired by God. I also like stuff by Philip Yancey, Joyce Meyer, Max Lucado, John Ortberg, Rick Warren, John Maxwell, and Nicholas Sparks.

Heroes:

I'm sure a lot of people say this, but whatever. My mom and my dad are truly my heroes. With some pretty rough stuff that they have gone thorugh, their steadfastness amazes me. I am so grateful to have godly examples of both a man and a woman who have gone through storms and come out stronger. God is good!!
