My Interests

Video games, especially Nintendo Wii games, because they rule. Also worship. I am really into contemporary worship. I'd like to see it become as reverent and awe-inspiring as traditional worship. Like this. .. ..I'm also pretty into music. I play piano, and I'm learning guitar.

I'd like to meet:

Pam and Karen off of the office. Because we could meet, chat, and have 2-3 seasons of "will they?, won't they?" love drama. Oh, and then I could make Pam jealous with Karen. Then, when Pam is convinced she loves me, I could turn to her affection!Oh, and this girl. ..

Music:

I love worship music. Currently, I'm digging Steve Fee's new album. It's pretty solid stuff. Also, I love anything by the Wesley brothers (John and Charles).Hip-hop is my other music of choice. I love the phat beats. It's infectious. And makes me want to dance.Speaking of, techno/trance rave music is another favorite of mine. nothing energizes me quite like a little La Bouche or Utah Saints. Andy Hunter is my favorite, of course, probably because he mixes worship and raving. Brilliant. My favorite instrument is the piano. It's beautiful. I have written a lot of my own stuff on this wonderful instrument. All that is to say-- if it can make MY stuff sound good, you know it's magical.I also like acoustic music. The guitar is a nice instrument. Sadly, most acoustic music is marred by bad singing voices. Am I the only one on the planet that thinks modern pop music sounds like whiny, pubescent boys dying? We can only wish they actually were so that the world could be rid of such bad singers.Oh, I hate country music like I hate projects on Japanese Culture (except SOME Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban). "Sara Beth is scared to death" is quite possibly the worst phrase in musical history. However, for a good man-hating song, I'll definitely turn to CarrieAnd turntables will one day revolutionize the world. Also, this is the band that led worship every week at my youth group when I was their youth pastor, and they were a band. Oh, and that's me on their banner, playing in freezing cold water.

Movies:

I like GOOD movies. Like Good Will Hunting or most comedies. Shaun of the Dead is among the best. I just love movies in general, i think. When I go to the video store, I pass more movies I've seen in theaters than not when I go through New Releases. One of my greatest aspirations is to make a B-rated Christian movie on par with the comparable Left Behind Series. I want to change the world through bad cinema. No doubt.

Television:

The Office is the greatest show ever created. Period. Heroes, The Class, One Tree Hill, CSI:Miami, 24, and House are the only other things worth watching on TV, besides the Olympics, which I may love more than my own life by the way.

Books:

I usually like Karl Barth. I also love the Harry Potter series (Waiting on "Deathly Hallows"... ooo, can't wait!), King Arthur stuff. Oh, oh, the Ultimate Zombie Survival Guide-- cause you never know when you'll need zombie protection.

Heroes:

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the theologian turned martyr. And probably Oprah because... well, she's Oprah."Also, Abraham Lincoln... Bono... and probably God. I just think all those people really helped... the world." --Michael Scott

Calling Refined

Today, I learned the importance of my calling.  I was at the hospital doing rounds when I left the floor for a moment.  When I came back to the floor, nurses were searching for me.  Then one said, "He...

My Very own Wii

Well, this morning I stood in line outside Gamestop to preorder the new Nintendo system, the Wii.  Now, I foolishly thought to myself, "Surely there won't be many people waiting.  It's a schoolday.  T...

Interview with a Semi-Superstar... or something

So, I'm walking down the street today toward Supercuts, where I will be getting a trim.  It's interesting, really, I haven't ever gotten a haircut outside of Bham, but I really felt like I couldn't wa...

Knibb High Football Rules

Now, I'm not one of those people who wishes they were still in high school.  I don't make a habit of frequenting Clay-Chalkville games.  In fact, I am quite the opposite, absolutely lov...
