It is an excellent ab workout and it makes me feel like a little kid. I do yoga, pilates, and some cardio (no where near what I should be doing). Eventually, I would like to teach yoga to children. Even though I am a grad student in the biological sciences, I like holistic medicine such as reflexology,acupressure, acupuncure, massage, and using yoga to help people heal. I believe eastern and western medicine should be able to coexist in harmony.I also believe that there are things out there that cannot always be studied in a scientific way and that those techniques (meditation, prayer, etc.) can be used to promote well-being.I love reading, and read a wide variety of books. Surfing the internet if a favorite way for me to pass the time.Music helps me to escape the stresses of everyday life. My favorite artist is Tori Amos and I have all of her CDs, including her singles. She writes her own songs and her lyrics make you think. She is not for everybody.Cancer research is what I want to pursue, specifically developing new and better anti-cancer drugs. I try to keep up on the latest in treatments and clinical trials. But the field is advanicng so rapidly, I can't always keep up. My research as a grad student is looking at compounds that cause cancer and how the body tries to stop these chemicals from leading to cancer.So there I am in a nutshell. ~Which Tori Amos Faerie Are You~

I would like to see my paternal grandma again because distance kept us from being close. I miss my aunt and uncle who died a few years ago and want to know they are at peace and no longer in pain. I know someday I will have the opportunity to meet all of them.One person currently very alive that I would like to meet is Tori Amos. She is my favorite singer/songwriter. She is intelligent, sexy, and in control of her own career, which I really respect. Most of the music that I have on my page is hers.I would also like to meet other Toriphiles and any other interesting people out there. I like Horror movies, so anything with gore is on my list. I also like Mobster movies and shows like Goodfella and Sopranos. I like comeides too. One of my favs is Zoolander. I thought it was hilarious but I realize either you really like Ben Stiller or you don't. I do. I also liked him in Meet the Parents. I am open to most movie genres with the exception of sci-fi, which my friends try to get me to watch. Secret: The Passion of Christ was the first movie I ever cried at.

Recently read: The Tenth Circle; My Sister's Keeper, Entombed, Piece by Piece (a Tori autobio), and Gilead. One of my favorite books is Caucasia, about two biracial sisters separated because of their parents actions. I read it a few years ago, but it was a good book. I like Stephen King novels, Anne Rice novels, actually any thriller that I can get my hands on.
