I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Yes we live in CALI... we are adjusting. Yeah we know He is everywhere but we think there is something special to teach us in Bakersfield, CA - a place we already know by visiting reacts very badly to our allergies. I know He is everywhere but I think He vacations in CALI... is that blaspheming? We just started to facilitate a really great group of young people here in Bakersfield. I am positive they have plenty to teach us. I think if they can pick up one thing from us, it will be to own their faith and let their relationship with God do with them what it will.I really miss full time ministry a lot sometimes since I was working with the Christian Camp/Retreat Center for a couple years and then Transformation Life Center (a great men's rehab Upstate, NY-if anybody needs one) with my husband Phil for a little bit. Since my faith informs my values and I realize now that ministry is everywhere you are and I gotta get on the ball, people need help without without without conditions and limits - thats our job. "Christian Culture", CCM (why does it seem they all use the same producers), Christian T-shirts that only other Christian would get; whats with that...The best baby ever just turned a year - Miss Nola Elise. She is Phenomenal! She just keeps getting Bigger! Who knew I could take care of a baby considering I have killed every house plant I have ever owned. Really.Phil & I have been married since April 9, 2005, and how the time has flown (and I will have you know he has not yet tried to kill me once despite my flaws). You can see his music page on here with some of his newest songs: http://www.myspace.com/philiplatch .I just want to be real...all the time.PS: Screw Spell Check...

My Interests

Phil Skates. Plays and writes music (I guess if you must classify - indie-ish). I, well...watch Phil skate and listen to his music. I am still a Hair Stylist on the side - Cuts and Color. We dig working with kids. Most Kids just want somebody to care about what is going on in their lives...(I left hairdressing as I was on the verge of a big break in my career to work at a camp for inner-city kids for a couple years and kind of bypassed a lot of those career oppertunities...I am not sorry)Lets get our political parties to join sides and make one party that functions as it should and get our country back on track! No more lies, no more mud slinging, no more sweetening the message to make it prettier to look at - tell us what you're really going to do, what you're really capable of and let us make our decisions.

I'd like to meet:

*a 2,000 year old carpenter...peace, love and justice Himself.*Phil is a great singer songwriter and is always looking for others. Otherwise he wants to keep making children until there is enough for a band. *Young new Moms. We are Nursing so its cool to have support for eachother "Breast is Best!" *The original "Rinestone Cowboy"...(well I don't know who that may be or what that is for that matter but that song rocks) *Count Chocula to thank him for making such an awesome cearal...
