I wrote and directed Roman's Empire, including all the music except for the lovely punk version of "Rubber Duckie" by some guy who I forget, but he's in the credits. The cast was also myself, (Jeff Schlags) Jason Levin, and Thom Woodley. I hadn't planned on playing Roman, but the student I had cast as that part quit the night before shooting began. I had no other options but dying my hair and getting on with the show. Jason was on the fencing team at Penn State, I think he was the captain at one point, but gave it up and wanted to try his hand at acting. He later moved back to Beverly Hills. Thom was an acting student in the theater department at Penn State, and went on to play some awesome roles in stage productions afterwards.
