Ah, what to say about music these days? I love music but have been totally underwhelmed by most everything that is being overplayed on the radio these days. In fact, when tuning in, I turn on classic rock and 80's stations. My latest obsession has been to embrace the music of my high school days again. I have been listening to lots of Pearl Jam and Bush. Amongst newer stuff, I love, love, love Muse and Goldfrapp. Also, Nickel Creek and the solo stuff by Chris Thile. Waiting for new Damien Rice. Feist has made my list lately and some Sia although I still can't quite get over the BN in store play days enough to enjoy all her stuff.
The Goonies and the Burbs are two of the best movies ever! Anything with Jean Reno! Seriously folks, if you haven't seen Crimson Rivers or Wasabi you don't know what you're missing! I love German horror films, yes horror not the other kind of German films (dirty people)! Actually any horror movies. Trust me I've seen some bad ones, the worst of which was High Tension (I'll never live it down). I love action flicks and the only chick flicks I'll watch have to be along the lines of something like Tristan and Isolde or King Arthur with Clive Owen. I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy and of course the Harry Potter movies, too! Recently most impressed with Night Watch (Russia's Nochnoi Dozor)!
LOST (aka tv crack) Heroes (aka tv crack #2) CSI (the original and New York not Miami) Grey's Anatomy and yes, I have been sucked into the vortex also known as Desperate Housewives! I know you'll laugh, I cannot miss Iron Chef America and can't wait for the new season of Top Chef, although I almost never agree with the judges' decisions in that one.
As a total book junkie it is really hard to narrow down the favorites! Genre wise, I will read almost anything. Lately I have been on a kick to find more 80's and British horror. James Herbert and Clive Barker are amongst the ones I am reading lately. Joe Hill is an absolute must for any horror fan these days. LOVE HIM! Painful awaiting the new Stephen King. Also, still searching for more modern gothic the likes of which have been appearing more and more frequently (Historian, Shadow of the Wind, Thirteenth Tale). And, I am always in the mood for super intense thrillers like Mo Hayder, Ruth Rendell, and Minette Walters. Ooh, and Joanne Harris has her first young adult fantasy due out and on the flip side Stephanie Meyer has her first adult thriller due out! With Urban Fantasy on the rise, must mention Vicki Pettersson as well since she has the most amazing new series out about superheroes in Vegas! For more, catch my reviews at www.bookbitch.com
What heroes? Bruce Willis can save me any day! Oh, those heroes, Stephen King! He is the master and one day will be recognized as the greatest contributor to modern literature of our time!
