Though Avenged Sevenfold has been my favorite band for over five years, the GazettE has taken their spot as number one. the GazettE definitely stood out when I first saw a picture of them; whether it was trying to figure out if Ruki's neck stripes were tattoos (they're not) or if Reita actually had a nose under that nose band of his (he does), looks doesn't matter anymore when it comes to these five talented men.
The first GazettE song I have ever heard was "Cassis" and I was mesmerized by Ruki's voice. I didn't know someone so tiny could possess such a deep and amazing voice. The more I listened to them, the more addicted I was to Ruki's voice. Nobody could compare to Ruki. Besides his voice, Ruki is a lyrical genius. For somebody who dropped out of high school and was homeless because his parents disowned him, his lyrics are so amazing. Unlike most artists out there, his past and all his feelings are poured into the words and the songs. Though I cannot understand Japanese, by just reading the English translations, you could feel how deep and meaningful the words are. Not many artist actually show their emotions nowadays and I respect Ruki so much for always giving a touching and emotional performance. I respect that Ruki is not afraid to cry in front of his fans; it takes a real man to do that.
Enough with Ruki. It's really great that a band could evolve and change their songs throughout their careers; they're not afraid to explore new realms. The composition of the songs are amazing. Their PVs are so...indescribable because there is always a deep message behind it. Uruha and Aoi are very dynamic guitarists. Reita is a great bassist and never fades into the background. And who could forget about the leader of the GazettE? The drummer with the cute smile: Kai.
If I ever have the chance to see them live (But please, NEVER COME TO AMERICA; it will ruin you guys. I'll come to Japan.), I would die a happy girl. the Gazette has inspired and influenced me to view things in a whole other perspective and for that:
