The Central Florida Youth Orchestra is a non-profit group of young musicians. The CFYO is made up of all-ages from elementary school to college with a few learning adults mixed in.We just got back from NYC where we played a concert at CARNEGIE HALL, Sunday, June 15th, 2008. What a success! We combined four orchestras; The FYAO, CFYO, FYO, and DBYO into one, large festival orchestra called the FFYO (Florida Festival Youth Orchestra.) There is nothing like playing at Carnegie Hall. We could feel a special energy there which excited our young STARS. Most of the parents were so overwhelmed, tears began to flow. We premiered several pieces written especially for this group: "The Phoenix Rising," by Stella Sung; "Alligator Songs," by Daniel May; and "Ponce Deleon Suite," by Robert Kerr. Phoenix and the three movements Bon Voyage performance in Longwood, Fl. can be seen on Youtube.com under FFYO. Check it out.Our next concert this season will be ANNOUNCED in September 2008. It will be in the Paul P. Williams Auditorium, Lake-Sumter Community College, 9501 Hwy 441, Leesburg (near Lake Square Mall) at 7:00PM. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 7 and younger. There will be a reception with refreshments following the concert.
