This movement is a long time coming and should be an effective tool to win our youth and streets back. Since music is the common interest with most children and young adults, we can use music to format the mind set of kids today and steer them in a more positive direction instead of a path of destruction. This movement is designed to take city by city, community by community, street by street and find common ground and allow them to work together and get to know each other on a positive side. In almost every community they have their own celebrity or person that they respect or look to in aspects of music. By uniting these artist we can created a sense of Unity between communities and by using these artists to focus their energy to positive music and bring them to the stage, we can create a audience and we can capture their attention to talk and send positive messages to them.We are planning another Chill Out Day in the immediate future. We are looking for Sponsors and Vendors to make this event successful. This is a day of Non-Violence, a day of peace and unity. This is a day designed to bring all areas of the tri-county together to work together and Unite against what is going on in our streets. This day will have local groups from different areas to perform positive songs and set aside all the hate and negative ideas. It is also a day to talk to our youth and show them by example that we can work together and by working together we can take back our streets and our kids. On this day will have a lot of information about drugs, violence and how these things are destroying our communities. The Charleston area has a lot of talented individuals and some of them just don't have any direction on where they are headed in the future. Since the streets play a large part in raising some of our kids, we as leaders need to not hate the streets but change the streets so that we can have more control of our youth. Please keep in mind that this is just not a block party for fun, but a ongoing movement to get our younger generation involved in making a positive change for the future. The N Word *The Latin Word for Black. * During Slavery and Jim Crow, it was used by Whites to insult African Americans. It was the most negative word to describe a person *If African American adults had taught you your history and culture, you would have a better understanding. *Unfortunately they did not, so some Hip Hop youth can be heard saying "Wassup, my Nig__?" *Hip Hop culture has turned the most negative word into a term of endearment: "My Nig__." *Somehow you know enough about the history of the word to stop others outside the race from using it. You also know enough about the word to use it against a brother or sister you don't like, which is the same way Whites used it 200 years ago. "I hate you Black Nig___." "Nig___ you aint Sh__."
