Rooted from Jamaica, this Bronx born DJ began his love of music during the prime of hip hop and reggae culture- the 90’s. He started with making mix cd’s for his classmates and teachers in junior high through high school. From the response to his music, DJing became infectious and his push forward to become a New City name begun. But music wasn’t just about DJing for MADOUT- it was also about creating. Self crowed as a music geek- he was always “extra early and always front†when it came to music classes. Professionally trained on the saxophone and trombone- MADOUTS ear for music began to grow and mature with sounds, beats and notes. Influenced by the West Indies and city life, his favorites in music stretch from reggae greats like Gregory Isaacs to alternative bands like Green Day. The sky is the limit to the genres of music he enjoys. Like most New Yorkers- MADOUT knew that if he wanted to make it he had to hustle and grind. Surrounded with the night life culture- MADOUT positioned himself as a promoter. Promoting for prime night club venues in the Bronx including El Rancho, Sky Ballroom and Twins Lounge – formally Emerald Lounge, he established a popular name throughout the Bronx. Spinning at some of the most notable New York City venues, The Door, Guest House and others- he as only proven that he can entertain and “set the vibes†anywhere. In 2008 he won the title of MVP at an infamous DJ Battle, “Government.†With combining is skills as a promoter and DJ- MADOUT has given away over 30,000 mix cds as promotional items- demonstrating the importance of self promotion. Comparing himself to a boxer- he is willing to “go in†and is always ready. Appreciative of the DJ’s that made paths for new dj’s he thanks Tony Matterhorn, Cypher Sounds and Massive B. Taking pride in his music he wants to continue in success with radio, magazines and television. He can be heard on radio throughout the Bronx and the internet.
