The same explosive forces responsible for the creation of hip-hop are at work within the world of Deadly Collision. With influences spanning the history of hip-hop, from pioneers Run D.M.C. to hometown heroes Naughty by Nature, Deadly Collision (D.C.) consists of three uniquely gifted MCs: Riq Da Kid, I-Wise, and J-Black. The trio has grown from childhood acquaintances to partners in rhyme, sharing a dream to take over the rap game. With tracks referencing every aspect of street life Hustle 2 Survive as well as anthem-like bangers Game on Lock D.C. re-introduces a brand of hip-hop that true fans never turned their back on: raw, uncut, head-nodding hood music.Riq Da Kid, 23, the most vocal of the three, is an artist at heart, sometimes drawing pictures instead of penning rhymes. But lifes ups and downs more often sway his hand to write the stories his pictures seek to tell. And like all true MCs, he believes that he is the best at what he does, resulting in enjoyably arrogant bars of fire. With an impeccable delivery, and a strong voice, Riq Da Kid shines on cuts like Who Want Problems.I-Wise, 24, is the more thoughtful MC of the group. Visions of something more gratifying in life drove this intellectual to write poetry early in life, but love for music found its way into his heart, and created this most complex MC. With an attitude that is at times laid back, at times relentlessly aggressive, I-Wise is best understood on tracks like We All Change.Completing the group is J-Black, 24, the grittiest MC of the three. Hard knocks, responsibility, and loss have made J-Black an animal on tracks and generated the ferocious energy that feeds this MCs live performances. With rhymes that etch themselves into your memory, a flow that never runs thin, and a rugged voice that demands attention, J-Black burns on tracks such as Ready to Blow. The powerful group is complimented by tracks provided by the in-house production of Nattural, Gusto, and Proe. These up-and-coming producers accentuate D.C. with a sound thats hood enough for every corner, and would easily rock the suburbs. What happens when dreams, struggle, art and arrogance collide? Perhaps a more fitting question is, what happens when hip-hop collides with a supernova?
