Spending time with the family (both blood relatives and really good friends), laughing uncontrollably, watching good movies, watching live music, drawing/doodling in my notebooks instead of paying attention in class, sleeping, finding good ass deals while shopping, sunsets over the ocean horizon, going fishing with the parentals, snowboarding (even though I have a knack for falling on my ass), eating whatever's cooking at the gradma's house, anything and everything pertaining to Spongebob Squarepants, random comments, intellectually stimulating conversations, any and all types of art forms, people who aren't stingy with their hugs, trips to the Philippines, science and biology (yes, I am a nerd), people who aren't ashamed to be a square bear at times, bouts of nostalgia, and narcoleptic dogs who snore hella loud
stevie wonder, an umpa lumpa from the original charlie and the chocolate factory, people interested in the arts and the elements of hip hop, and basically just down to earth people that don't cause unnecessary drama in their lives.... oh... and YOU... because you're prolly a dope as person :)someone who wants to do this with me :) .. width="425" height="350" ....
I listen to way too many different kinds of music to put into a list. I kind of just put my iPod on shuffle and see what comes up... it's like a little surprise every time. Oh the beautiful sounds that emanate from my headphones or a set of speakers. I love it. Some of my favorite artists are definitely worth mentioning tho: Stevie Wonder (my all time favorite, hands down), Jurassic 5, M.I.A., Soullive, Incubus, Common (yes, even the failed experiment that was Electric Circus), Goapele, John Legend, Blackalicious, old school Boyz II Men, Mos Def, Talib Kwali, Tribe Called Quest, NERD, Linkin Park, Kanye West, TLC, Lauryn Hill, Erykah Badu, Gary Valenciano, Parokya ni Edgar, Lea Salonga, 112, Black Eyed Peas (especially before the addition of Fergie), Blackstreet, Keith Martin, Pharcyde, Digable Planets, Redman and Method Man, Temptations, Michael Jackson... damn... this list is fatty. Let's just try genres: big fan of dancehall/reggae in the clubs, gotta rock the hyphy music and rep the bay, smooth funk/jazz when i want to mellow out, old school KOIT jams when I wanna get nostalgic, alternative sounds when i'm on an edgy tip, slow jams when the mood is right, island vibes while on the beach, classical while studying, and underground hip hop and R&B for all the times in between. Basically, if it sounds good, I'll listen to it.
TOOOOOO many: What Dreams May Come, Love and Basketball, Green Mile, Vanilla Sky, All Disney/Pixar, Shawshank Redemption, Friday, Italian Job, Gone in Sixty Seconds (all those cars are hella sexy), Crash, Napoleon Dynamite, Thumbsucker, Ocean's Eleven/Twelve, Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles II, The Wood, Big Fish, Moulin Rouge, Serendipity, The Notebook, Old School, Brown Sugar, Love Actually, Hero (the colors in that movie are awesome), Memento, Half Baked, A Beautiful Mind, Terminal, 50 First Dates (especially because of the soundtrack)... I could sit here and type forever, so I'll just end it here.
Don't really have time to watch t.v. anymore, but I will never say no to an episode of Spongebob Squarepants. I find myself getting sucked into marathons of the Real World for some reason. Whose Line Is It Anyway and Scrubs is high quality programming as well. Wondershowzen, Chapelle's Show, Family Guy... anything that can make me laugh. I've been watching UFC lately cuz according to my ading Ro, i'm in training to be a cage fighter. haha. However, nothing will ever beat the childhood shows that now play on Nick at Night or on TBS: Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Full House, Family Matters, and Saved By the Bell.
Da Vinci Code, Green Mile (It's even better than the movie), The Five People You Meet In Heaven, Noli Me Tangere, Women of the Silk, A River Sutra, The Joy Luck Club, most of the stuff written by Filipino authors, my MCAT textbooks cuz I finally conquered that shit... anything that will keep me captivated and turning pages.
My Dad for beating the odds, My Mom for staying focused,My Grandma for being that link that keeps us all together, My Grandpa for being that source of unconditional love,My Crazy Ass Cousins for keeping me laughing, and My Friends for being my family away from home.
