Product of the hood, voice of the block is how this Dade County beast describes himself. The 23 year old Miami native was born and raised in Goulds, Florida a small hood in Miami where chances were few and the dope game hustle was all around him. The name Ready Roc refers to the cook up or finished product, that everyone in the hood is familiar with, because they either sell, know someone that sells it, or uses the drug. While the drug game has destroyed so many hoods, this Ready Roc is ready to shed light on situations and give back to the neighborhood that gave him street smarts that cant be learned in school. While growing up in Goulds, Emanuel Holmes has seen it all, killings, crooked cops, drug dealings, and family members in and out of jail. So many people feel like they gotta get points out here, so they serve, rob, kill, to get they reputation up, following the wrong leaders and chasing a dream that actually leads to a nightmare, all the while, they not realizing that going your own route and being real with yourself will get you more respect than anything else When asked about chances in the hood, Ready Roc responded with this, as a git (kid) you only know what you see, and unfortunately thats the dealer, the user, and the police, everythang else is T.V. and seem out of reach to the young ones, imagine growing up in the struggle and everybody with a 9-5 hurtin, seem like all the dope boys eatin good, the users hurtin, and the police taking your family members away from you, so that make them the bad guy, what would you choose? I dont knock a man hustle cause some got to do that, but at the same time instead of fixing the problem, people in power just put a new paint job, on a car with a fucked up engine, so the problem is still there. Ready Roc witnessed his father, uncles, and friends catching time in prison, and being the oldest out of 5, he vowed to never deal in the under world, or at least get put in prison for it, and when his father caught a 5 year sentence, he dropped college for 2 years to work full time to take care of the house. Ready Roc has been writing for about 5 years and has just finished his last year at Bryant University where he has a radio show that has the most listeners out of any school in the northeast, playing college ball, and stacking up his work to murder the industry. I used football to get out of the hood and see another state, a lot of my people never been out of Goulds and feel like foreigners in places like Orlando, or South Beach. Influenced by groups like Poison Clan, N.W.A., and artist like scarface and trick daddy, Ready Rocs music is equipped with real talk that the hood and the world will embrace. The young beast brings an element that is missing from the game nowadays realness, originality, and the courage to say Im not your local dealer, Im not a killer, I am the product of my Hood, and the voice of my Block, Americas new nightmare has a college degree and still is connected to the streets.
