First off, support any local music. There are a lot of hard working musicians out there that don't get the credit they deserve. It's not easy chasing your dreams and going broke while you do it. All they ask is go see them live. You may find yourself pretty impressed. Any kind of music, give it a chance. Sorry, now that's out of the way. I love playing my guitar. Any style, shape, or form. Whatever I am playing, you will always know it's Gorsch. I love the heavy shit, moslty old school though. The new metal comming out sounds like everybody is just trying to be as heavy as possible, straight for the kill. Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of good metal out there. Just remember there is more to metal than speed picking. Do you think the guys Black Sabbath sat down and said, "lets write the most brutal music ever." No, they were labeled heavy metal because of the dark vibe their music put off. It also seems like bands dont just write for the sake of writting anymore. They feel they can't stray from their mold. I enjoy writting all sorts of shit. One day it's thrash metal, the next it's raw three chord blues. I am a blues guy at heart. Music should be full of soul. It's a form of expression so there better be feeling or emotion behind it. I try to include my blues roots in anything I write. You want to hear some dark and raw emotion, pick up some old school blues. The Robert Johnson shit. Foot stompin and singing from the very depths of your soul. Thats what music should be. I have also been skateboarding my whole life and feel more comfortable on a board that my own feet. I have rode for a few local shops up north and try to support skateboarding anyway possible. Skateboarding lets you be an individual and do you own thing no matter what "Style" you are. I've never been much for "styles." I've got my bro's that love hip-hop and are super tech on a board, and my bro's that love thrash that just go as big as possible. We all come together to shread some concrete. Other than that, I just let shit happen and live day by day.
