JournalistIn early 2007, midway through degrees in Journalism and Economics at the University of Queensland, Katherine Feeney was offered a blog on the brand-new Fairfax baby, brisbanetimes.com.au.Called CityKat, it would cover the cornerstones human existence: love, dating, relationships and sex. Lots of sex.Needless to say, Kat - nee Katherine - accepted faster than high-speed internet in New Delhi, transforming her from nightclub hostess, part-time model and full-time student to Brisbane’s tall, blonde and socially analytical answer to Carrie Bradshaw. After six months, Katherine then joined the brisbanetimes.com.au staff as a full-time journo. An Aussie lass through and through, Kat was born in Canberra but grew up all over Down Under, identifying as a Taswegian, Arhnemlander and Gladstonite - amongst many others - before settling in her much loved Bris Vegas to finish high school. She enjoys spending time with friends, long walks on the beach holding hands and a host of other, wholly original activities such as extreme sports, heated ideological debates, cultural festivals and haute couture.
