Shanahan

My name is Brendan Shanahan and I play Left Wing in the NHL for the Detroit Red Wings. I was first drafted by the New Jersey Devils on June 13th of 1987. On July 25th of 1991, I was signed as a free agent by the St. Louis Blues. Later, on July 27th of 1995, I was traded to the Hartford Whalers. Finally, I was traded to the Detroit Red Wings on October 9th of 1996. I scored my first goal on October 10th of 1987. My number is 14 and I am proud to be the Assistant Captain. On July 4th of 1998, I married Catherine Janney. We are proud to say that we have 3 children; Maggie, Jack, and Catherine. I became a United States citizen on May 17th of 2002. I have won the stanley cup with the Detroit Red Wings 3 times. Hopefully this season we will make it 4!
