I am here for Dating, Serious Relationships, Friends and Networking

About Me

Making unlikely friends is one of the special pleasures of MySpace. That's a good reason for having a public profile. Sure, straight-laced folks may wander in here, recognize someone they know, read a few groups, and draw the conclusion that we're all going straight to hell. If that's the case, heaven will be pretty BORING. Too much of our society today is segregating itself into ghettos of like-mindedness. People listen only to talk radio that validates what they already believe, congregate in communities where most people think the way they think, and get creeped out at the idea of having caring relationships with anyone more than a few years apart in age.I think I am (or I try to be) accepting of people who are different from me and life choices I might not make myself. (Drugs excepted.) (OK, drugs and personal violence. If those are your thing, I'm not your guy.) I like multi-generation families and extended families. I'm particularly interested in what you think if you're not my age. We all get too much input from the people we hang with. I'm as shy as you are (I think lots of us here are shy), but at heart I'm a people slut.I spent a good many years in cubicles and offices in the land title insurance business. I've been a business economist, a marketing services manager and a manager of computer systems and networks. In May, 2006, I stopped getting a paycheck because the company moved the data center where I worked, to save money. It is called retirement or poverty, depending upon one's viewpoint.I live in a multi-ethnic, lower income section of the northeast San Fernando Valley, a suburb of Los Angeles. I'm involved in a community effort to improve services and promote economic development in our neighborhood. I also participate in several counter-culture social groups that provide relaxation and good friendships. My wife resigned about 12 years ago, after 16 years of marriage. She bought a house around the corner. (Yes, this is the Left Coast.) So for those who insist on categories, I am a "divorced male". Yes. Really.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People I would never have known otherwise. Guys doing interesting things. Any girls willing to talk to a guy with gray hair.
