Wdup peoples! Thanks for stopping by. I'll be managing this site by myself best as possible, making updates and adding new stuff. I'm new to this, and I'm no whiz so bear with me. BIO
A product of the Jamaican Diaspora; Colonization in reverse ; the outcome of cultural synergy; S.H.A.Q. The M.C. was born Trevor Thompson.
A child of the eighties, birthed in the breath of East London at a time when Bob Marley's legacy was beginning and Michael Jackson was casting his name in stone, he grew up in a Jamaican family of talented artists giving him an early start on his training for success and this environment spawned nearly twenty something years later, one of the most diverse urban lyricist to emerge on the new Jamaican live music scene.
During his early years in London, S.H.A.Q The MC began singing with the Sylvia Young Stage School and the Southwalk Cathedral choir, and at age 11 moved to Jamaica, where he further blossomed his musical talents performing in numerous school productions.
Always found inking poetry or raps in the back of books, it wasn't until college that sharing them started to seem like a good idea.
Now a musician, producer, and writer with a growing reputation, Thompson is Co director of Difamli Entertainment, an independent label formed with partners Jesse Golding and Shayne Morris.
Armed with an extensive catalogue of songs across a multi-genre soundscape ranging from Hip Hop, soul, to Reggae dancehall, S.H.A.Q The MC is currently working on a number of projects including mixtape releases, solo project MYSTORY , and group project WEDIS .
S.H.A.Q. can currently be found honing his stage craft at Difamli’s artist showcase JAMAICA VIBES, and at various live music showcases throughout the island.
