Armed with SpaceRig and several stringed instruments.....................

About Me

Joe Skaggs has been playing bass in front of people since late 1994. Originally a guitar player and percussionist, Joe began to stray from these instruments and around January of 2000 made the decision to focus solely on bass. In 2002, Joe purchased a plywood upright and took a complete departure from electric bass to become one of Gadsden/Jacksonville/Anniston areas busiest acoustic players. In August of 2006 Joe welcomed the purchase of SpaceRig: an ultraclean sounding bass rig featuring a David Eden Metro Combo amplifier as the Ultimate Source. A new Warwick bass has given Joe a renewed interest in electric bass playing. All of this together makes Joe a competent choice when choosing a bassist. In 1998, Joe began his University studies at Jacksonville State University, taking percussion applied lessons from Tracy Tyler and Clint Gillespie. In 2003, Joe switched to Double Bass applied lessons with Mark Wilson and in 2004 began taking secondary Jazz applied with Mark Miller.Joe Skaggs is currently the bass player for The Hodgepodge Orchestra www.myspace.com/hodgepodgeorchestra and JSU Jazz Combo I.A selected listing of ensembles, bands, and individuals in/with which Joe Skaggs has performed:JSU Jazz I, JSU Jazz II, JSU Combo I, JSU Combo II, JSU Combo III, JSU Wind Ensemble, Etowah Youth Symphony Orchestra feat.
