Peter Parker/Clark Kent. I'm fascinated by people who are unafraid to step out of the limelight and glory that his gifts and talents could afford him and take on the mantle of a humble servant. fellow truthseekers. friends. heroes. lovers. warriors... (FYI: that's not a personal ad)(tho' it does speak a little to that guy I'm lookin' for - mostly it's just a statement about the importance of character)I want to know people who see me for who I am and challenge me to be better, live louder and dig deeper.I guess the really special people out there are the ordinary folks who somehow manage (despite being so ordinary) to either: a) do extraordinary things, or b) are the rare kind that make you feel as tho' you are somehow extraordinary... or could accomplish the extraordinary. I've been blessed to know several of both these types. I hope to meet more of them. I hope to BE one of them.Mostly I just want to meet REAL people... like you. just honest, real, messy people with all their quirks and faults & struggles.people with and without vision. and truth-seekers. yeah. bring them on.Oh - and for those of you who're still wondering about the famous people list: the apostles, Mary Magdalene, Eve, Lazarus & family, my grandfathers, the founding fathers of this country, a lot of folks scattered throughout the Bible... Fred Astaire (esp. if he'd dance with me), Audrey & Kate Hepburn... Jimmy Stewart. Bono. Grace Kelly. Mel Gibson.

I love reading & I hate this question. Mostly because I realize I haven't been reading as much as I used to... Top 10: the Bible, anything by John Eldredge - but everyone needs to read Wild at Heart by him & Captivating... This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness, and the Prophet - all by Frank Perretti, Prayer for Owen Meany (tho the movie butchered it) - well OK - just about anything by John Irving... Bronte. Steinbeck. Hemingway. Dickens. Dr. Seuss. Shel Silverstein. Tolkein. Lewis. mysteries. histories. Epics. Adventures. (the classic stories of rescue & redemption... good triumphing over evil - especially where the good guy wins the girl)(what can I say? I'm a sucker for a happy ending!) a lot of classic literature... American, European - and beyond. & OK - so that's not 10. sue me.Right now, I'm reading "Lolita in Tehran" & "the Kite Runner", "Sacred Romance" - oh and "Girl Meets God" - I also recommend "God Whispers".
The love of my life: Jesus Christ. My parents (43+ years of marriage and still going). My sister Kristine. Anyone in this broken world who manages to live and love with passion and serve others with humility, patience and grace. (Basically every single one of my close friends)... the way I see it - hereos (excepting that first one on my list) are basically ordinary people who do extraordinary things. (That is, after all what defines them as heroic, right?) Those of you out there who truly care about others more than you do yourself and actually manage to do something about it. [You know who you are & you ROCK].
