Tyler-Rose wants her fans to know her on a first name basis. Connecting with her audience through thoughtful songwriting and straight-up personality, this Toronto-born singer/songwriter believes in building a friendship through her music. Listeners can relate to her no-holds-back approach to love, life and everything in between.
At the ripe age of 19, Tyler-Rose is not your average bubble-gum pop singer. She prides herself on her songwriting skills and is inspired by what she calls a "very active gut feeling". Songwriting is a therapeutic process in which Tyler-Rose becomes vulnerable to her own emotions and her audience. Writing from a rather mature perspective, this beautiful teen is edgy yet soft at the same time. She pens songs that are representative of the journey of a young woman in search of love, excitement and self-awareness.
Tyler-Rose began singing at a very young age and took a keen interest in theater and acting. After appearing in over 18 stage-productions, it became evident that her true love and undeniable talent was singing. At the age of 14, she enlisted in the help of a vocal coach to nurture her voice through classical training. In the summer of 2007, Tyler-Rose attended a songwriting workshop at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. While there, her demo caught the attention of high-profile producers who had worked with the likes of Jessica Simpson and Avril Lavigne. They invited her to sit in on a NYC songwriting session that provided Tyler-Rose with in-studio experience and the chance to further develop her skills.
Inspired by artists such as Pink, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, Rascal Flatts, Avril Lavigne and LeAnn Rimes, Tyler-Rose continues to approach life and her music with a "you only live once" attitude.
