About Me

My name is Lisa, and I am the mommy to the smartest, most handsome, and adoreable two-yr-old boy in the world---not to mention the most mischievious! Madoxx's happiness and well-being are what I live my life for! He definately owns my heart! He's probably it for me though--don't think this little momma is gonna have anymore youngins'. I am in nursing school right now and will be finished in May, and then I'll be off to finish my master's---I feel like I'll never be finished with school! My boyfriend, Blake, is my rock. He's the best friend I have ever known, and he always lets me get my way 'cause I'm his "princess." I truly believe we were made for each other. I'm so ready to get started on our life together! I would not be here if it weren't for my family who has never failed to support me through anything. I have made so many friends along the way, and I thank God for each and every one of them--esp. my Emmie. I'm an extremely passionate person, but I haven't quite figured out if that's a good or bad quality. My two major flaws are gossip magazines and shopping--I'm addicted to both. Sometimes I feel like I am stuck between being a little girl and a woman. I don't feel 24 at all---where did all the time go?! I loooove to eat good food, but I also love working out(uhhh..kind-of), so I guess they balance each other out. Watching Madoxx grow and learn is the joy of my life. My days would not be complete without the books we read and the songs we sing at bedtime every night. I love summertime and having a tan, and 2-for-1 margaritas make my day. I'm scared to death of growing old, but I can't wait for the ride....

Before I was a mom
I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.
Before I was a mom,
I slept as late as I wanted,
And never worried about how
late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.
Before I was a mom,
I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys
or forgot words to lullabies.
Before I was mom,
I didn't worry whether or not
my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a mom,
I had never been pooped on,
Spit up on,
Chewed on,
Peed on,
or pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a mom,
I had complete control of myself;
My thoughts,
My body,
And my mind.
I slept all night.
Before I was a mom,
I never held down a screaming child,
so that doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a mom,
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't
want to put him down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces
when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew something so small could affect my
life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a mom.
Before I was a mom,
I didn't know the feeling of having my
heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel
to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a
mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small
could make me feel so important.
Before I was a mom,
I had never gotten up in the middle of
the night every ten minutes to make
sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth,
the joy,
the love,
the heartache,
the wonderfulment,
or the satisfaction of being a mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so
much before I was a mom.

Music:

I really like almost everything---except techno..no, no, no-can't handle that!

Movies:

Almost Famous, The Notebook, Orange County....I like a lot of stuff, but absolutely no action movies. They make me think too much and give me headaches!

Television:

I don't really get to watch very much TV, and when I do it usually ends up being Baby Einstein, The Wiggles, or Barney! If I do find time, I like to watch anything on VH1 or MTV...I still haven't grown up enough to watch anything more mature :)

Books:

My favorite books are the ones Madie and I read at bedtime! He has good taste, so I enjoy anything he picks from his bookshelf! I read my Bible every night, and I have to have my weekly dose of Star or InTouch:)

Heroes:

My mommy---even though I don't let her know it enough! Having her in my life has taught me how to be the type of mother that I want to be---- always there unconditionally. There is nothing in the world like the unconditional love that mothers have for their children.
