About Me

..For well over 10 years, the East Pittsburgh area has been pushing out some of the best original punk rock, rock, indie and hardcore that Pittsburgh has to offer. At the heart of this was EOE. EOE started in the mid 90’s with an unlikely group of musicians. Brandonn and Tom were very close friends, Shane hated Brandonn very openly and Larry simply appeared. Tom, Larry and Brandonn jammed for a while. For reasons unknown, Tom asked Shane to come over and jam one day. This was very odd! For some reason that we will never know, everything “clicked” and everyone knew something was right. Over the next couple years the crew became very tight both musically and as brothers in this strange journey. The music had a range that allowed for the harshest energy driven anthems to the sweetest melodies. Live shows always reflected this range. “Rocking the fuck out!” was always the main goal, regardless of the song (hmm Sweet Home Alabama with a mosh pit?). But what really made EOE stand out was the crazy friends and fans. Every show was an event and a good reason for a ton of kids to hang out in a dead Pittsburgh music scene. As the local shows grew, outside interest grew too. EOE found itself opening for many major acts such as Orange 9mm, The Deftones, Unwritten Law and even on stage at the Airwalk Sno-core with Face to Face and the Pharcyde. The people that called themselves fans started to range from Chad Smith of the Chilli Peppers to grandparents. It seems EOE had a little bit for everyone.Towards the end everyone started to find different interest and moved in their own directions. When Shane left, a true friend, Jim Lucas, took the reigns on guitar. Jim was actually there for the whole ride in one way or another and often inspired the band through his support and friendship (Sweet Jimmy!). Hopefully the music posted here can pay a small tribute to a VERY FUN time. If you have a request for a song to be posted, leave a comment and I will get it up there.
