Garnering their name from an obscure Gram Parsons reference, The Cosmic Americana Band does well at combining country, rock-n-roll, and folk into an amalgam that continues to blur genres. The sound of the band has been constantly evolving from their days of purely acoustic music to the rich, clean, reverb-heavy electric guitars, twangy guitjo, and haunting violin. The band was created by musicians from the local Cookeville music scene in the summer of 2005, and by using Seth's songwriting as a foundation, they quickly put together a strong set list of songs. From that point on, they focused on winning over a following with the Cookeville natives and the local college students. They've steadily increased the range of their live shows and their fanbase by not trying to be someone they're not. The Cosmic Americana Band's music plays well to the fans of college radio where the sound from one song to the next can be as wide as the Grand Canyon and you can't expect what's next. However, when attending a TCAB show, the audience CAN expect to dance around, bob their heads, sway, and sing along to their catchy songs.
