"Faith is believing something you know ain't true." - Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)
"From the first moment I looked into that horror on September 11th, into that fireball, into that explosion of horror, I knew it, I recognized an old companion. I recognized religion." - Monsignor Lorenzo Albacete, professor of theology at St. Joseph's Seminary in New York."The keenest sorrow is to recognize ourselves as the sole cause of all our adversities." -Sophocles."Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less." - Marie Curie“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.†Benjamin Franklin. ..
"Paint me as I am, artist, warts and all!" - Oliver Cromwell to a flattering painter."If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything." - Mark Twain"The price of freedom of religion, or of speech, or of the press, is that we must put up with a good deal of rubbish." - Robert Jackson"The belief in a supernatural source of evil is not necessary; men alone are quite capable of every wickedness." - Joseph Conrad"One reason I don't drink is that I want to know when I am having a good time." - Nancy AstorI was born in San Francisco, CA a long, long time ago. I moved to a small town in SW Georgia when I was 15. After a year and a half of hell, I left home and moved to Connecticut where I spent a blissful year loving New England. During that time I married a sailor, which is how I ended-up back in Georgia, this time the SE corner - Camden County. I stayed there from 1990-2007. During that time I had a son, got divorced and remarried. My second husband and I separated physically in Oct of 2007, and I moved to Stafford, TX.
I'm a happy mom of a teenage son. The older he gets, the more I like him as a person! How many moms can say that about their teenage kids?!?! One of my happiest memories with him is taking him to his first concert in 2007: Tool. Our music interests are similar so we have at least a FEW things in common!
I've completed about 60 hours of college coursework; however, as I changed majors and then added a major (History and Political Science), I still haven't completed my degrees. I hope to return to school once I've met the residency requirements.
My hobbies include sewing, cooking (junk food!), cross-stitching (since 1986!), historical research, and reading. I'm a news and quote junkie. I love cemeteries and have surveyed over 10,000 graves. I don't do this work for pay, I do it for fun and to give something back to the community.I am an atheist, but contrary to popular (religious) belief, that doesn't make me a bad person. I believe in treating people the way I myself wish to be treated. No one is perfect, and we all make mistakes. But own up to those mistakes and do what you can to make things right."The light of faith makes us see what we believe." - St. Thomas Aquinas.I don't smoke and rarely drink (maybe 2-3 drinks a year and not to excess). I don't do drugs, and I don't "party". Life's too short to waste it on that crap.Pet peeves: liars and manipulators. Be an adult, get a life, don't take others for granted by lying to them and destroying their trust in you.I'm not a liberal nor a conservative, but I hate the Bush regime and hope that someday we'll get some brains in the Big Office (haha!).
