Incidium formed in the later stages of 2004, with Si Bown on lead vocals, Gary Fitzsimons on lead guitars, Gabe Mitri on rhythm guitars and Ben Lofts on drums. The 4 worked on 3 tunes primarily, named “Time of Reckoningâ€, “Beyond Hatred†and “Path of Shadowsâ€.
By summer 2005, it was time to bring in a bassist to prepare to enter the gigging circuit - enter Rick Hayward. Before long, Ben had to leave the band due to ill health, resulting in Chris Topham joining in January 2006, who added a greater complexity and aggression to the 3 tracks the band already had.
The band entered the studio in April, laying down a 3 track demo. As well as recording another 6 track demo in January 2007, starting at The Thatched House in August ’06, they played a number of gigs in the Greater Manchester area up until Gary left for personal reasons in August ’07, including a mini tour in May of that year.
This led to a line-up shift within the band, with Rick switching to lead guitar and Joe Ratcliffe coming in on bass. Incidium spent 6 weeks tightening up their sound and were back on stage in October, at Satan’s Hollow in Manchester.
Tracks such as “Thine Will Be Doneâ€, which you can hear on their 4 track promo CD “Senses… Divideâ€, was recorded during the first couple of weeks of 2008, and hints at a faster, more aggressive direction, and the band are currently writing new material, with new tracks such as "Relentless" and "Edge of Chaos" making their live debuts at recent gigs.
