The first half of my life I spent getting an education. I was a better than average student with strength in art and literature. I was able to get a jump start on my college through a program at the Art Institute of Chicago at 15 and attended the University of Denver and finally, Knox College.
I enjoyed plenty of travel and have many wonderful friends over the years. I settled in Massachusetts for several years and met my huband there and moved to Colorado, where I had my two children. Hubbies hobbies escalated beyond all sensibilities, so I disolved the marriage and moved to Joliet, where I was born and had something of a network. I had jobs too numerous to list ranging from shipyard carpentry to tutoring PhD candidates.
For the next 20 years I raised my children on my own. Both girls developed mad multi-intrumental musical skills and chose excellent partners in life. Both are dedicated to results, not excuses. Life is good.
As an empty nester I occupy my time playing dulcimer, ukulele, and drumming at any opportunity. Uke and bodhran like me best. (Nothing frightens folks like a female with drums I've found, so I'm more prone to pull out the uke.) I have a passion for live music and attend everything from school band concerts to folk festivals. I also help with my Grand-daughter. I'm an internet junkie, and I love the Sims2.
