I am here for Dating, Friends and Networking

About Me

Single, white, female. Lover of women and men, wearer of pigtails, drinker of coffee, reader, writer, explorer, and dreamer. I prefer to be barefoot, but I also have a weakness for shoes. I’m a bit of a hippie, a bit of a nerd, and more of a bitch than I used to be. I spent 18 years being everyone else’s idea of good, and have spent the last 11 developing my own. It changes frequently. I experiment, I contradict, I vacillate, I like to challenge people’s perceptions of me and feel that in doing so I very subtly challenge their perceptions of the larger world. I think that’s a good thing. I vehemently dislike being labeled, and I like to defy categorization. I search for true love, but have very little patience for dating. Make me see the universe in your eyes, then we can date, but I’m not about to settle for mediocrity because I enjoy my independence too much to give it up for anything less than amazingness.

My Interests

music, art, theatre, dance, film, all that artsy stuff. running, yoga, belly dancing, vegetarianism, organic products, making my body healthy and fit. politics, activism, progressives, independents, revolutionaries, fucking with the status quo. being outside in all types of weather and feeling connected to the planet, standing in the snow, staring at the moon. goddesses, Ganesh, mythology, archetypes, the collective unconscious. French press coffee, cheap wine, beer, dark chocolate. conversation, singing, gallery hop, comfest, bars, finding new restaurants. people who like to read, write, talk, debate, and understand. going out and getting crazy, game and movie nights with friends, staying in on Friday night and recharging my soul. spoiling my dog. falling in love. experiencing LIFE with a capital L, complete with all its unexpected joys, pains, friendships, loves, and craziness.

I'd like to meet:

Old friends and new friends! My soul mate. Anyone intelligent, interesting, genuine, and/or fun.

I want to meet people who'll challenge me, understand me, recognize my brilliance and forgive my stupidity. Friends, muses, lovers, running/workout buddies, coffee drinkers, readers, writers, artists, partners in crime.

If you know me, or think you should, feel free to send me a message. Please don't send me a friend request without a note, unless I already know you.

You can also AIM me at the screen name EmilyMay482.

The end of an era

Listen to the song on my profile, and bid a fond farewell to a swell band that formed back in the idyllic college days of the year 2000, on the flat frozen tundra of northwest Ohio.    Good...

Putting the rumors to rest

Explanations, no apologies, and a brief lunch hour rant

I have not been on myspace a whole lot lately.  I have also not been out at the bars a whole lot lately.  I am kind of boycotting bars, and lesbians, and social obligations (with some except...
