TALK TO THE HAND!

About Me

Belgradeyard Sound System collective was started in 1999 by Goran Simonoski and Relja Bobic by setting up a live music radio show on the airwaves of the now famous and commercial Radio B-92. This show is still the basis of all their activities, which developed as time went by, and today they are active as radio presenters, DJs, musicians, promoters and festival organizers.BGYSS took part at numerous festivals around Europe and in the US between 2002 and 2004, and in between these experiences they set up their own festival Dis-patch in October 2002. After the success of the first edition, the festival continued as an annual event each October, and four editions have been held so far. More than 70 concerts were promoted as part of the festival in the first four years. Check www.dis-patch.com !
BGYSS are also, as a band, working on their debut full-length album. The preview is the Munchies 12", featuring a very successful remix from Sofa Surfers' I-Wolf, as well as two completely different BGYSS versions. To promote the material, a live band has been set up, with two original members on programming and the double-bass player Ivan Antic. Live shows present the wide scope of BGYSS's musical interests, consisting in equal parts of live electronic improvisations and the material to be released on the album, which is more in the realms of acoustic, spiritual, power jazz music in its latest incarnation.
The last but not least additions to the line-up are the energetic saxophone player Jamal Al Kiswani, giving the band an even stronger impact of a real jazz quartet, while the projected live video manipulations of Andreja Miric refresh the bands shows with a unique stage-performance experience.BGYSS also perform as a (2 persons) DJ team.
