KAFKA are one of the few female fronted bands from York, who weave a skilfully trodden path between jerk pop (think YYYs/Strokes) and a little bit of raw funk (Chilis/Hendrix)
They recently won two awards at York’s Best of the Bands competition, 'Best Studio Recording' (for the track ‘Fall’) and '3rd Best Band'.
Gigging regularly in the York area (with bands like Honeytone Cody, AKP and Customer 1000, thanks to lovely promoters such as Corruption and SOUP), building up a loyal fanbase and enjoying airplay on BBC radio, this band are tipped for big things. Watch this space…

'Olivia Hanson of Kafka has the voice of a young Gwen Stefani, so powerful, you wonder where she hides it beneath her petite frame. ‘Vocals like Gwen Stefani and the drummer’s having it!’ Grant (drummer from The Paddingtons)
