SEVENDAY WEEKEND

About Me

The story so far...
In late 2005, five musicians came together with a common passion for live music and a search for a musical vehicle in which to express their unique, individual sounds and influences. Through a series of regular writing and recording sessions, the distinctive sound of the band was defined, rehearsed and fine tuned. The result of which can be described as captivating indie melodic rock, which compliments the distinctive voice of the enigmatic Jim Styring superbly. Within 6 months the band secured a management deal, after impressing on the local gig circuit, and have gone on to play nationally renowned venues such as The Gardening Club in Covent Garden and Carling Acadamy in Islington. In September 2006, the band travelled to TEN21 studios in Maidstone, Kent to undertake professional recording. With respected engineer / producer Sean Kenny at the helm, and with advice and assistance from members of the James Blunt team (including legendary drummer Karl Brazil), the band completed their first demo. The band are now poised to capitalize on the wave of momentum and positive feedback, armed with a great album of potential hits.
"..7DW play with a lot of charm & musicianship and lead vocal James Styring fronts the band with plenty of panache." Pete, www.shine.clara.co.uk

Band Members: Introducing Sevenday Weekend...

James Styring (Vocals)James has publishing deals with both 4807 Music Ltd and All Media Music Ltd. He has contributed music to the RF Records “Wait Until The Ride Stops” compilation CD and a number of local radio stations have awarded songs from his previous project, “HappyHead”, single of the week (against the major acts).

Jim Flaherty (Drums)Jim is the latest hard hitting sticksman in a family of successful musicians. His cousin, Karl Brazil, is the highly respected drummer in the James Blunt Band.

Dale Simpson (Keyboards)Dale is a student at the Lincoln Virtuoso School of Music where he has training in both classical and jazz piano. His experience in live and studio work, together with his ear for a strong melody, make him a vital ingredient to the band.

Colin Stewart (Guitar)Colin’s disciplined and precise playing is instantly recognisable. Having previously played the festivals of Europe, his individual style compliments the bands overall sound.

Ed Parkin (Bass Guitar)Ed is formerly of the band Audioline, and has played several high profile concerts, including having the (dubious!) honour of opening for Westlife at Lincoln City FC's Stadium.
