Two teens -- Lensay Kassa, 17, and Desariee Pumphrey, 16 -- were traveling south on Route 29 at Briggs Chaney Road when the Chevrolet Impala they were in struck a car turning from Briggs Chaney Road onto Route 29 North, according to police. Authorities said the Impala then hit another car in the left turn lane of Route 29 before it ended up on the side of the road. Three other people were in the car with Kassa and Pumphrey. Kassa's twin sister, Tia, was injured. Pumphrey's 18-year-old brother, Everett, also was injured All four were students at Springbrook High School. Grief counselors will be at the school Monday. The Impala's driver, Clifford Gaines, 18, was treated and released. The crash is still under investigation. For the Pumphreys, it was the second tragedy in six months. Desariee's father, also named Everett, was killed in November when his car and a school bus collided at New Hampshire Avenue and Bonifant Road. Be Safe At Prom And After Prom
