I am 51 years old. I am single, and I seem to be enjoying that at this time. I am laid back and easy going. I rarely get mad. I enjoy being with my friends and going out whenever I can.
In the ICU the nurse works with many high tech devices like IV pumps, continuous cardiac output lines, Intraaortic balloon pumps, EKG monitors, dialysis machines, ventilators, dopplers, and others. Most of the nurses can read twelve lead EKGs and know how to titrate and handle complex and potent IV medications. They talk to patients in terms the patient can understand but have to understand the complex language of medicine when interacting with physicians. To reach minimal levels of competency DOES NOT HAPPEN OVER NIGHT! It takes years.
