I started playing music when I was 13. I was influenced by my dad and Uncles. They taught me that music is about emotion and heart....not about ego. Thus I have become a very humble player who plays with heart and feel.
My first real band was MOURNING GLORY. It was formed by my friend Tim Luedecke ( Drums), Mike Turk ( Bass) and Scott Anderson ( Vox). It later morphed into CULPRIT adding Jan Hillich ( Keys), Frank Binke ( Bass) and the unforgetable Jim Clary on Vox. I also did some axe work for the German Band AXTASY ( Deave Parys, Didi Linge, Guido Heinl, Jochen Scheu, and the awesome Gotz Ulmer).
After a stint in the 1st Gulf War, I returned to El Paso, and was recruited into the Cover Band SILENT REIGN ( Dave Hayman, Scott Collins, Joe Sams). When that band went to the shitter, Dave Hayman and I started up DIONYSUS, with Richard Gerome ( Drums) and Denise Maldonado(Vocals). That band, as all the others, fell apart and Silent Reign resurfaced minus Joe Sams, but with Richard on Drums.
In early 1995, I took a job that prevented me from playing in the club curcuit, but I continued with my writing with Jovian Moon ( Dave Hayman, Richard Gerome, and Jake Peterson). I also recorded a CD with my Sister Anthea Nevarez ( Dave Knight on Drums, and Dave Hayman on Bass).
In 1999, I did a brief band with my brother Jesse Nevarez ( SolVox) called Alcatrazz Swimteam ( Mark Czacki, Louie Speaking Eagle, Dave Hayman).
I started the year 2003 with Vandetta that later morphed into Bruja. The Band Bruja ( Dave Knight, Miranda Ross, Charles Herns ( 1st Bassist) Larry Jenkins (BOB...awesome bassist and showman!!!) lasted for 2 1/2 years. It was a great 2 1/2 year ride in which we took 2nd place in the first Bandit Rock N Roll Rumble battle of the Bands ( How quickly the Bandit....uhhh...Eagle Forget....)!!
Now the band: Remedy ( Mike Solis: Vox, Art Flores: Drums, Maximo Muzquiz: Bass) takes a sudden turn, but a turn for the better. The new changes have added more depth to this project. Though I was sorry to see Jason leave, Max has pulled in great. Now with Art on Drums...the band grooves a steady, hot passionate groove that is sure to make the band shine. I am geared to rock...fresh and reborn!!! And the story Continues........
