I am here for Friends

About Me

Well, first things first: we're cool. No, I mean really cool. Too-cool-for-school kind of cool. Yeah I know, hard to believe because you usually don't encounter this level of coolness on a day to day basis. I'm not going to go into a long explanation here of why we're so extraordinarily cool -- not that there are usually any explanations involved because cool just IS. It's a way of life for us coolest of the cool. But just trust me on this one. You want to sit at our lunch table..........................................Besides occupying our time sitting around being cool and all, the most important thing is God. We both try to let Him take the lead before we screw things up! .......................................We're enjoying the scenery here in NWA for now, but we both have a bit of a restless spirit, and maybe some gypsy tendencies, so who knows where we'll end up. ................I guess my ultimate goal really is to lead a revolution - a huge, world-changing revolution. And if I have to tragically die young while escorting the masses to safety, that would okay, so long as I go down in a Joan-of-Arc style blaze of glory. Just kidding. I'd actually prefer if there were no blazes involved...................................Alan's ultimate goal is probably something more along the lines of becoming a famous standup comedian or Champion Karaoke King of the World or Life-of-the-Part-For-Hire, or maybe the next Ebert or Roeper. Definitely something in the entertainment field. He's definitely a pretty entertaining fella whose gifts need to be exploited for the entertainment good of society.Get new hot myspace layout today! *click here*

My Interests

Alan -- collecting DVDs and watching movies (pretty sure this man has seen every movie ever made and can tell you everything about them, right down to the director, actor histories, and production company), traveling new places especially overseas, karaoke, dancing, doing spontaneous things with his biggest fan -- his fiance (yeah, sappy, I know. Go ahead and throw up.) ............................................................ .............................Shannon -- Big time fan of: GOD, originality, people with clever comebacks and word play, people in general, hiking, biking, kayaking, anything else outdoors, politics, writing, dreaming, learning from mistakes without dwelling on the past, finding the humor in things, diving into things headfirst, animals, thai food, writing, playing just about any sport even if I'm not good!, spontaneity, the occasional shopping binge, dancing with everything you've got like an idiot in your living room - or sometimes in public too, Finding A Darn Good Band and Listening to Their Music Until You Know Every Last Word and Could Almost Play the Music Yourself Except That You Couldn't Pick Out a Chord on the Guitar If Your Life Depended On It

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet a real life psycho. I mean, an actual conspiracy-spewing, paranoid, hypochondriac, obsessive Crazy. I'm talking nuttier than a truckload of fruitcakes. I think everyone needs at least one of those in their life. I would love hanging out with that guy ... Also I'd like to meet the guy who invents the Best Thing Since Sliced Bread. I mean, people are always saying something is the best thing since sliced bread, but it's obviously not, or else we wouldn't continue using sliced bread as the standard for comparison. So I'm just waiting for that next big thing that will once and for all knock sliced bread out of the top spot. It will have to be pretty awesome. Everyday I wake up wondering if this is the day that sliced bread will finally be lodged from its monopolized position and a new level of greatness will be realized. Could be anything really, but I think it might have something to do with cheese...

Music:

Alan -- Can name just about every song ever made, along with the artist and year. Yeah, he's that good - it's kinda scary how much he knows. Bob Segar, Eagles, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, James Taylor, Prince, Miles Davis, and some rap when working out ............................................................ ..........................Shannon -- Is WAY into music and can't go very few minutes of her day without it. Loves to explore the new indie bands, and has a new favorite just about every week. Ipod sample would include Tegan and Sara, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Feist, David Gray, Lucero, Dashboard Confessional, Postal Service, Death Cab, Third Eye Blind, Mat Kearney, Augustana, The Killers, old Weezer, The Strokes, Anna Nalick, Snow Patrol, Arctic Monkeys, Howie Day, Damien Rice, Modest Mouse, The Cranberries, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Beatles, The Stones, The Grass Roots, Tesla, Buffalo Springfield, Goo Goo Dolls, Bush, Collective Soul, Smashing Pumpkins, Lynard Skynard, Janis Joplin, Simon and Garfunkel (And a guilty pleasure is the 80's)

Movies:

Alan (The Ultimate Cinematic Genius of All Movie Knowledge and Unrivaled Collector of DVDs) -- Rocky, Rambo, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Across the Universe, Full Metal Jacket, Ghostbusters, Goonies, Dracula, Superman, The Godfather, the list could go on and on ............................................................ .................... Shannon (Novice Movie Watcher At Best, But Working On Expanding Her Big Screen Horizons With The Help Of A Certain Movie Guru) -- Across the Universe, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Closer, Erin Brokovich, The Green Mile, Feris Bueller's Day Off, Office Space, 12 Angry Men, Rocky IV, You've Got Mail, Meet Joe Black, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (new and old), Sweet November, Lawrence of Arabia, Rear Window, pretty much anything Alfred Hitchcock, and documentaries (as dull as that sounds)

Television:

Don't watch a lot of television because we never have time. When we do... 24, Saturday Night Live reruns, South Park, McGyver, The Family Guy, Nip Tuck, O'Reilly Factor, Saturday morning cartoons while eating Captain Crunch in our pj's

Books:

Shannon--The Lexus and the Olive Tree by Thomas Freidman, Who Are We by Samuel Huntington, My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers, anything by Shakespeare or Edgar Allen Poe, Letters to a Young Conservative by Dinesh D'Souza, The Future of Freedom by Fareed Zakaria, Diplomacy by Henry Kissinger, The Bible

Heroes:

Alan-- Superman, Captain America, Spiderman, etc. lol ............................................................ ...................... Shannon--JESUS, my parents, revolutionaries, the founders, Mother Theresa, Winston Churchill, Ronald Reagan, people who can open heavily plastic-packaged products without getting really angry
