What is there to say about me? My name is Brian, but some people call me Chilly, a few call me Penguin, and a couple call me Sticks. A year ago I would have said that I'm pretty much your typical emo kid musician, but I'm not. I've come to find that I am anything but typical. I lived with my dad and my brother in a town that no one has ever heard of. It's a suburb of Palm Springs, california. It is hot and boring, but there is nothing more beautiful than the view of the sun rising and setting over the mountains. It's funny how sometimes you don't realize the things you take forgranted until you don't have them anymore.
I was living in Phoenix, AZ for a while. It was interesting. Phoenix is nice in some ways (like the offroading!!!and my sbux buddies) but I'm a Cali boy through and through, which is why I've moved back home to Cali. Sort of. Riverside, a hair in the armpit of California. At first, I hated it. But now, it's not so bad. I met an amazing girl, and everyday I spend with her makes being here that much better. I spent last summer in NEW ORLEANS. I loved it. Teaching those kids was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I met some amazing people: Derek, Sara, Eli, Seb, Aisa, Gloria, Katie, Victor, Tyler, Marissa, and Ben! And I had some pretty rockin' times with those guys, playing with (and occasionally eating) crawfish, hitting the casino, cruising down Bourbon Street (and getting "bourbon-faced on shit street" as the t-shirts say!), dancing @ the Whirling Dervish, and of course checking out some of the best jazz I've ever heard on Frenchman St. My heart might be in Cali but my soul is in N'awlins.
I play guitar and drums and just about everything else I can get my hands on. I'm a big band geek. I marched drum corps for three years and counting (Impulse 03, Americanos 04, Fever in 06, made Vanguard in 07, but couldn't go). I teach the drumline/front ensemble for the Cathedral City High School Royal Lion Regiment Marching Band (that's a mouthfull) as well as work with the GROOVE Percussion Ensemble. I did just about every band in High School and a bunch of honor bands and such. Basically, I am a band geek. Music is my passion. I give private drum lessons for cash on the side, and also work at Starbucks. I do a bit of freelance graphic and web design as well, check out www.tbc-productions.net (that's a link! click it!) for info on that.
I have been accepted to the Berklee College of Music in Boston and plan to go eventually. Lol. For now, I'll be settling for two years at RCC (go Tigers!) while I figure the financial side of things out. As for right now... I think I'm at a turning point in my life. I have to make some decisions and some changes, only I don't know what they are. I have come a long way, and I have come to understand and accept many things in my life, but I still have a long way to go. Why does growing up have to be so hard? Well, I finally have answer to that. It's 'cause if it wasn't, nobody would be strong, and you have to be strong.
Some of my favourite bands & artists are:
The Get Up Kids, Yellowcard, Tim McGraw, Dierks Bentley, Miles Davis, Bright Eyes, Steve Holy, Kenny Chesney, Something Corporate, Aesop Rock, Frank Ticheli, John Coltrane, Dashboard Confessional, Further Seems Forever, Richard Saucedo, John Williams, Sublime, Belle and Sebastian, Weezer . . .
The list goes on, but I don't feel like typing anymore. I like at least a small amount of music from just about every genre, though I'm partial to country, jazz, pre-girl-pants emo, symphonic, and various sorts of rock.
As far as my interests go, I'm into a lot of things:
Music. Offroading. Camping. Fishing. Hiking.
Drumline. Drum Corps. Marching Band.
The Beach. The Mountains. The City.
Reading. Shopping. Writing.
Poetry. Art. Theatre.
...living...
I love to read, though I don't always have much time to actually do it. Some of my favourite authors include: Rilke, Hemingway, Salinger, and Palahntuk.

This is my favourite scene from My Sassy Girl. My perfect "movie moment" would be if a girl learned how to play "Canon" on piano for me.
Best Movies Ever:
My Sassy Girl. Il Mar. That Thing You Do! A Walk To Remember. Serendipity. Amelie. Empire Records. Moulin Rouge. Big Fish. The first two American Pie Movies. Anything with Julia Roberts or Tom Hanks. The original Star Wars Trilogy.
