Maestro Adam M. F. Pelzer

About Me

Renowned virtuoso, Adam M. F. Pelzer, is a prime example of a multi-talented musician and has been for the last 15 years. He professionally plays the piano, violin, organ, 'cello, and sings (professionally as well) operatic tenor. He plays violin in the Lake St. Clair Symphony Orchestra, rings in the Holy Cross Handbell Choir, sings lead in the Guardians of Harmony barbershop chorus, sings tenor in the quartet UltraViolet, and is affiliated with many other musical groups and organizations. Pelzer has the unique ability to sing all four parts for Barbershop Harmony pieces, and can even sing all four women's parts. He first started his musical career at the tender age of three when his mother came home with an upright piano one day. Weeks afterward, he began taking lessons. He began competing with piano just before high school. He has won countless contests/competitions in solo, duet, trio, and quartet divisions(the high majority of them being 1st-places) and was awarded with scholarships, cash, awards, and trophies. He began singing around the same time as he started competing, mostly simple arias which soon evolved into difficult pieces such as "Vesti la Giubba" and "Nessun Dorma."Pelzer was given a violin for Christmas his Freshman year of high school and immediately began taking lessons. After 3 months, he had surpassed his teacher. After taking lessons for a year, he had already started to play Vivaldi concerti and other technically challenging pieces. He taught himself how to play the organ at age 15, and now is somewhat successful in that field, claiming that it was simple since he had been a classically-trained pianist for over 12 years. Pelzer is also notable for composing and releasing the songs in his head on paper and is often commissioned for his works. His longest work, a 42-minute solo piano piece (without repeats and containing nine key changes). He has written 18 violin duets, 23 violin solos, 4 violin trio, a double piano duet, 52 piano solos, two arias (without lyrics), 5 organ pieces, 4 violin/piano duets, a violin/cello duet, 3 cello etudes, 3 vocal etudes in barberhosp arrangement, and one piece for string quartet. Each of his pieces "flow with a passion that cannot be taught by any teacher."Adam performs on a regular basis, usually around 20-25 times a year in public performance. He was accepted in June 2006 as one of 21 international piano majors into Blue Lake international fine arts camp and gave a recital after his time there. He learned/memorized a virtuosic Beethoven piece in 10 days and performed it in front of a large audience (for a copy of the recording, please contact his myspace page). He also takes part as a Tenor/Lead/Baritone/Bass of the Cardinal Mooney Harmony Chorus, where they perform about 8 times a year. Their most recent achievements were opening for the White Christmas show in the Fox Theater and the Nutcracker (Detroit, Michigan) and singing at the Renaissance Center (also located in Detroit). The chorus sings anything from Barbershop harmony to excepts from Handel's Messiah.Pelzer is currently unsigned and is awaiting a recording contract for his work with the violin He has performed as a pianist with such bands as All Systems Unseen and Ready... Break (formerly known as No Higher Hope). His performance repertoire is still growing at an alarming rate. Pelzer's most notable accomplishment is the acceptance into Blue Lake International Choir as a tenor. He auditioned along with approximately 4800 students his age, and will (in the summer of 2007) be singing in the 78-person choir in three or four different European countries. His singing has been described as "Imaginative", "heartfelt", and "[a] true gift of God" by esteemed judges, professors, and fellow performers. Recently, amibition got the better of him and he purchased and began playing the cello. In just one hour of playing, he was able to learn to play Canon in D by ear and even added tender vibrato. Pelzer's specialty for piano consists of Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Rachmaninoff and his most recent additions to his repertoire are Chopin's "Troisieme Ballade en A-flat," "'The Ocean' Etude," Rachmaninoff's gymnastic "Prelude in G Minor," Tchaikovsky's 1st piano concerto, and numerous others. On the violin he is most proficient with Bach concerti and enjoys Paganini pieces. Vocally, he has just over four octaves of range and sings mostly Mozart and Puccini. Pelzer is an internationally-acclaimed musician and has been called "one of the best performers of his generation." The title "Maestro" comes from his unfortunately brief foray into conducting in which he conducted the first and third movements of Vivaldi's Concerto for Violin in A Minor with a young orchestra. Here, Pelzer developed his dream of one day conducting the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra. Please contact his myspace account for information concerning performances or if you have any questions/comments.I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
