Jesse Macht

Jesse Macht is a singer-songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles. Some of his heroes include Glen Hansard, Jon Brion, and Gram Parsons.Jesse grew up learning the basics to a myriad of instruments and eventually began to concentrate on writing songs, recording, and performing them. Beginning in high school, a performer since childhood, Jesse had his first start playing his music locally in Hollywood and around town, eventually moving on to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. After meeting up with brothers in arms, formed a band that toured the midwest and eventually resettled in Brooklyn. After re-branding and re-forming, the band relocated and recorded a new record in Los Angeles, where playing guitar for “Burn Down the Mission” is currently a passion project in conjunction with his independent song-writing.Since the introduction of BDTM, Jesse has been working on demos and is currently recording tracks for an EP due out in Spring of 2010 independent of the band. His music bares a melancholy optimism that regards the struggle of following our dreams, enjoying life, creating art, and meanwhile, questioning our roles and responsibilities as men and women in our everyday lives and interaction with friends, coworkers, loved ones, and strangers. Influenced by songwriters such as Jon Brion, Glen Hansard, Gram Parsons, Neil Young, Billy Joel, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, James Taylor and many more, Jesse’s music aspires to follow a long tradition of challenge, love, and introspection through the art of song. ..
