About Me

Five Years ago we all watched as the United States of America was attacked and over 3,000 lives lost. SO what happened to us? Five years after Peal Harbor our grandfathers had saved the whole world, defeated Nazism and Japanese Imperialism.
What have you done?
What the hell happened to us?
Some of us have signed up in the military because of a sense of duty (a word of Anglo-French derivation that doesn't translate into modern American English). "I think these 'wars' don't affect people who have no direct connection to them", Master Sergeant Kramer wrote. "I think most men 18-45 in America know nothing of Sacrifice."
The call to action came from Rudolph Giuliani, on Sept 16, 2001. Then again a few days later from President Bush. In the face of those few Americans that enlist, the ideal of selfless service and courage is present ,the very things I had imagined we could regain after 9/11, but which are still completely foreign to most Americans.
"Being a Man" used to mean showing courage in the face of danger. But America has rebuilt Masculinity and we left some things out.
In the five years after Pearl Harbor, 6 million men joined the military. Five million more were turned away. From 1940 to 1945, the number of Red Cross volunteers jumped from 1.1 million to 7.5 million. There was NO spike in enlistment or volunteers after 9/11. A couple hundred thousand Americans enlisted in the year after the attacks, the same number as the year before and the year after.
There is no comparison between our generation and the generation called the Greatest Generation. Those who are serving in the Armed Forces (Less than 1% of the Population) are the remnant of what defined that great generation. They are the examples of what Men should be, examples of honor, courage, loyalty, respect, selfless service and integrity. They are to be called Heroes. When your sons and grandsons sit upon your knee, looks you in the eye, and asks you what did you do when America was attacked? What are you going to be able to say?
So I ask one last time, what did you do when America was attacked?
You are now marked on my profile visitor map!

How do comfortable Christians in the suburbs join the God of the oppressed? Is it even possible?

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I'd like to meet:

We move so fast in this life that most of us never get to stop and experience it. We must stop and we must live it, live it to the fullest!

If you understand the gospel now, then you shouldn't be holding any grudges.
