I'm a veterinarian who has thrown herself into a not-quite-midlife crisis. I just quit my emergency residency and in two weeks, I'll officially be unemployed with no future job prospects. This will be the first time that's happened since I was 16, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. A few months back, I also bought my first house, which was pretty freakin' cool (and part of the reason why I hope I figure something out on the job front fairly quickly). I also started dating this guy, and he's fantastic. I've been spending a lot of my non-working hours hanging out with him, and we do stuff like going to local dive bars, hanging out and watching Steelers games, rollerblading, and razzing each other about our political differences. When it's just me, I'm usually reading waste-of-time magazines, knitting, and annoying my cat.
