About Me

The Lorax is my hero. I am the definition of Big and Tall (6'4 and thick with size 15-16 feet) I love animals. I am the assistant husbandry manager (assistant to the husbandry manager?) at Mote Marine Lab Aquarium in Sarasota, FL. Chicago will always be my sweet home. I've been a White Sox fan since I can remember, even though I seem to be wearing cubs stuff in a lot of my photos from childhood. Whats up with that?? Good Guys Wear Black!!! I love sports. I played Rugby for UCF and Iron Horse RFC. I love DA BEARS!!!! I am a University of Florida alumni: I bleed Orange and Blue. I graduated with High Honors in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and Zoology at UF. I am just as comfortable under the water as I am above it. I am finished with my masters degree in Biology at UCF...I AM A MASTER OF BIOLOGY...a scientist, if you will. If I were on celebrity Jeopardy, I would play for Give Kids the World...i volunteered out there for 4 years! (or maybe Mote Marine Lab, now that I work there...) I used to rehabilitate sea turtles and take care of sick fish at work. I don't have an exact count, but I estimate that I had a hand in sending at least 50 sea turtles that were going to die back out into the wild, totally healthy. It is a good feeling. :) I think stingrays are fascinating and have incredible personalities. I love bodyboarding and am trying to learn to surf (I need a big board). I have a 10'10" sunset longboard. I know I'm not going to get bit by a shark because that would be too ironic...I used to work on the International Shark Attack File and take care of sharks for a living now. I love photography, especially underwater. I love travel, especially overseas. Some movies make me tear up. Once again, I play rugby. (for some reason, Big Fish does it every time) I'll blame it on a yawn, tho. ;) I love to cook to the point that people ask me why I didn't go to culinary school. I occasionally burn whatever I am cooking...there is the culinary school answer. I am laid back and love relaxing in my hammock. My parents just bought a house near Springfield, IL (on Lake Petersburg...it is my home away from home). Mom and dad are wonderful... My mom is the most fun mom of any moms I know and my dad is the greatest!!! (I dont think anyone works harder than him, even though he just retired). My little brother Paul is my best friend and I admire him. My Sister Katie and I usually get along when we are together...at least for a few days...but those days when we get along are great! haha. Shes the best sis I could ask for. Murphy, our family dog, has 3 legs and a heart of gold. May he rest in peace...i miss him. (I'm sure he has 4 legs now...) I can only remember dirty and offensive jokes. I love hot and humid weather...not so sure about winter. Brrrrrr I love my mom, dad, brother, sister and ex brother in law with all my heart... Fantasy Fest is quite possibly the best party on earth. Mikesbigdeck.com comes in at a close second. I doubt anyone is going to read this, but I am having a good time writing it. I almost joined the ska band "the usuals" in college, but focused on classes instead (they needed a keyboard player, and I figured I could learn). I spent 5 weeks backpacking around Europe with my buddy Jon. I am in Less Than Jake's music video for their song "Automatic" (right in the beginning...one of the first people they show) and I was on BET for DMX's reality show. I used to be really shy and self conscious. Not so much anymore. I have been catching frogs since i can remember (but never hurt one in my life). Ive been told that frogs are my "totem". I love to read just about anything I can get my hands on. I think PG-13 horror movies are the scariest...the scene in "Signs" where the alien is on the roof of the house next door gives me goosebumps every time I see it. Halloween is my favorite holiday. R-Rated comedies are the best movies and need to make a comeback...and I believe they are. I speak German, but not fluently. I don't know how to date women...call it a lack of experience. I hate the smell of incense, but love candles. Garlic...yum. 50 wings unbreaded...and chicken nachos...Alex, Josh and I's "Ale House" special. I miss going to the Ale House with friends. I take care of fish for a living, but I love fishing, too. Catch and release for the most part. I love to go camping, but only in cool weather. I have a blue tongued skink named Mick Dundee and a green iguana named Fred (Ive had him for maybe 20 years.) Both are now in the expert care of Patrick Stewart. good guy. I enjoy giving massages much more than receiving them. I love meeting new people, so send me a message!!!

My Interests

I just like meeting new people from all over the world (especially in Central FL and northern/central IL). Read about me..if you think you want to meet me, I'm sure I want to meet you!!!Haha...So many of my friends take care of animals and/or train dolphins for a living...I thought you would all enjoy this..Warped Tour 06, catching crowdsurfers, singing along to my favorite band, Less Than Jake!
