I’ve learned through all of this not to be so hard on myself. It’s often said that we’re our own worst critics, and it’s true. It's always good to desire to be better, but there comes a point when you have to believe that you’re already enough. I am enough, and I know that.
I am a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I love music, food, and I'm a nerd. I'm not good at sports and I don't like spicy food. Animals scare me and I hate scary movies. I am intelligent and strong, yet I am random and sensitive. I like the color green.
I am not perfect. I am not defined by the awards and certificates I have received. I am not defined by my boyfriend. I am not defined by what others believe me to be. I am not defined by what others expect me to be.
I am loved. I am loved not despite these things, but because of them. So maybe I don’t deserve this love. Love is rarely ever deserved or earned. But I am loved. I am loved without pretense or fear or justification. I am loved as I am and will always be.
