I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Ok, so life is a journey and someone forgot to hand out the road maps. This person should be flogged with many wet noodles.
I live in Wisconsin, but I am what someone once called "imported cheese," because I have only lived here for four months. I'm originally from Illinois, the great land of Lincoln. The two states aren't terribly different. I just traded corn and beans for cows.
So why did I move to Wisconsin, you ask? Well... good question. I'm in a transitional period or something. You know... a disillusioned twenty-something muddling through trying to figure out what to do with myself. Feel free to offer suggestions.
I'm very close to m family, and I consider my good friends part of my family, just so you know. I love a little too much and act a lot tougher than I really am (but that's a secret). I get hurt easily and take forever to heal. But I hide it well. I also have a somewhat odd sense of humor.

Overall I think I'm pretty awesome. You might too, if you get the chance to know me.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

To quote Ani, "I've got a thing for assholes who tell good stories." I'd like to meet honest people. If you're an asshat, own up to it and it's cool. Be who you are with me and I'll do the same.
*One itty-bitty qualifier... deluded pathological liars with over-blown egos need not apply

Music:

Blue October, HIM, Ani Difranco, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Eminem, Trapt, Three Days Grace, Mamas and the Papas, Rufus Wainwright, Murderdolls, Bowling for Soup, System of a Down, NIN, Weird Al, Stephen Lynch, Dixi Chicks, Sarah McLachlan, Poe, Godsmack, Simon and Milo, Avril Lavign, Evanescence, Clutch, Chicago, Simon and Garfunkel, Gin Blossoms, Crystal Gayle, Kristine W, Good Charlotte, Jan Johnston, Linkin Park and we'll end with Tom Petty. This is an incomplete list and doesn't reflect the fact that I listen to classical, blues, jazz and several other genres.

Movies:

I like movies. Too many to name though. All time favorites include Labyrinth, Princess Bride, Bridget Jones Diary and many many more. (No, not everything I like is girly.)

Television:

I like it when the little people move around and say stuff in the black box. Sadly though, I have no cable.

Books:

I love to read. Mostly I like Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff. Especially if there are vampires. I like vampires.

Heroes:

My mom. Obviously.

I wish it was March now. I could use a couple of days away. Though I am excited to be going to Chicagoish this weekend. I say Chicagoish because it's not quite Chicago, but it's close enough. I did s...

music

I still think entire conversations can be had through songs -  that music can sometimes explain how we're feeling better than our own words ever will. I don't think anyone's understood as well as...

viva

I am going to Vegas in March. My whole family is going to celebrate Shannon's birthday, which is way cooler than the Skateland birthday party I had back in the day. I mean, Skateland had four corners,...

home

Well, I'm moved into the house I bought and I've turned in the keys to my apartment. Now when does that homey feeling kick in? It's weird how life goes sometimes. In the last 12 months I moved to a ne...

grateful

Living in Wisconsin has taught me to be a very thankful person. Evry time something shitty happens the only way I can get through without running away (which is my natural reaction) is to find the pos...

surprise

Jim surprised me with a puppy on Friday. He's totally adorable and HUGE. At 3 months old he's probably a good 20 pounds. He looks like he's got some beagle and some golden lab and who knows what else ...

This has been one busy month so far. Jim started his new job, we drove to IL during the first weekend of the month, and then we went to Noelle's in IN the week after. We had plans this ...

silence

Some days I miss cable. Mostly on days when Jim is working and I don't have plans after work so I come home and there's nothing but the buzzing of the fridge to entertain me. But then I get over it an...
