I work as a journalist for the Kilkenny Voice newspaper. I'm the social and entertainment editor. My section has 9 pages so it's great for local bands and bands visiting Kilkenny to get good coverage. I also write some news for the paper.I have an entertainment company called Hype Entertainment. I run gigs in Morrisseys Club, Kilkenny. Every second Sunday we have an 'All Ages' gig and original bands play there on the weekends. I do sound, lighting, bookings and promotion for the venue so if any bands want a gig there give me a shout.I also run bigger gigs in The Venue night club, Kilkenny. Each year I put on the Kilkenny Battle of the Bands contest. It's in its fifth year now.I got into this through being in a band. I was in a band called The Ens for about six years. We gigged all over Ireland and spent some time in America and Europe. We broke up recently due to work etc, so you could say I dropped the dream but I kind of live it through seeing other bands do well at the gigs I run. Now I play in a covers band called Agent Smith. We have a Wednesday night residency in Morrisson's Bar, Kilkenny. I use that as my musical outlet, it's good fun.Anyway, thats pretty much it, music wise. I love local politics too but I wont get into that because I'd be writing all day.
If any band want a gig in Kilkenny, I can look after everything from booking it in, promoting it, and providing sound and lighting.
