About Me

Nicky Fraser has been tweaking and twiddling with analogue synths and drum machines for many years.
Raised on a diet of classical music, she embarked on a journey to find something different, and found so much, but it was the clubbing scene that felt most like home. Armed with a sampler, and a growing collection of analogue synths and drum machines, she began creating quirky electronica as one half of Compuphonic.
With no record deal in sight, Nicky turned her attention to her other passion, films, and produced the soundtracks for 3 independent films with one of these, "The Planet", in worldwide distribution.
In 2000, when she began DJ-ing, she created the moniker DJ Lunik, and has established herself as a DJ of worthy note.
She gained her first residency at the nightclub Kef, where she had the freedom to stretch her musical muscle playing 4 hour sets. She later turned this into her own night "KETchup" along with friends Darryl James and VJS2.
Her DJ skills resulted in her winning We Love's Freshblod July 2008 title, DJ Mag's Top Pick of Pick 'n' Mix as well as being booked to warm up for a diverse range of DJs: Chicks on Speed, Evil Nine and Derrick Thompson (aka Drivetrain).
She's played in Ibiza, London, Edinburgh and Aberdeen, as well as having mixes and tracks featured on online radio stations.
A combination of DJ-ing and yearly pilgrimages to Ibiza, Sonar and other music events have shaped Lunik's production style.
Her tune "I was made for This" received a great response from Radio One's Huw Stephens, who included it on his Introducing Show, and Podcast. This track is now released on Redking Records and available from Juno Download, DJ Download and others .....
