My name is Lamar a.k.a L A Mar. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I came from the north side of the city. I graduated from North Technical High School. I was an honor roll student threw high school. I had a learning and speech disability. So I came long way since I was born. I have little sister that is 14 to 15 years young then me and a half brother that is 5 years young then me. I was raised by my mother with the help of my grandparents. When I was little I was a quiet, shy person. I was a nice little boy but I was known to talk back. When I was seven, I had to go to a suborn grade school for 2 years. There I was only like 5 black children in the whole school. I got in trouble a lot when I was there because there a lot of racism at the school. Later on when I start high school, I was still a little shy and quiet. When I was 15 I quit the high school band, I played the trombone, the reason why I quit because it wasn’t me but I still love music. When I turn 17, I started writing lyrics then. I wasn’t good but I wrote well for love songs then. When I wrote other music it made sound like somebody that wasn’t me. So I look at myself in the mirror and realist that I need to do me. So I nickname myself the Quiet Brother. My mentor Chris the great give me my rap name L.A. Mar. Some people call me L A for short. So you know they ask me if I’m from L.A. . . . I left St. Louis after I graduate and went to Chicago for college for a year. I had to dropout because of money.
Hip Hop is my life. I love real hip hop. I’m not that rapper just want to come in and make money. I believe that I’m a lyricist. What I talk about in music is life, the good times, the bad times, how to treat a woman, and a little bit for the club. I’m different any artist out of St. Louis. I have much love and respect for any artist. So I think the game needs me. My influences are Kanye West, Common, Everybody with G.O.O.D Music and Roc-fella, Nas, Jay-z, Lupe Fiasco, Diddy, Pharrell, Eminem, Dr.Dre and some others…. So who ever like me, want to work with me, you know what do……
