Brooklyn's Premier Mastering Studio

About Me

I'm a mastering engineer working out of my studio in Brooklyn NY. I'm also a lifelong musician who plays with a band that includes lifelong friends and anyone who will let me!

The new studio is great. It sounds fantastic and the clients are very comfortable. It's great to be next to the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges. The views are incredible.

I'm always looking for interesting artists to work with. As you can see from my discography I work with all different kinds of music. I love to help people have the best sounding records possible as an engineer.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Interesting artists and bands.

We’ve had some great projects come through recently including a double CD for Red Hot with songs from Fiest, The National, Arcade Fire, David Byrne, My Morning Jacket, Spoon, Cat Power and many more.

Joe mastered the new CD “Nuance” for Lynn Arriale. The pianist is joined by Randy Brecker on trumpet, George Mraz on bass and Anthony Pinciotti on drums. Hip Hop label GWC Records brought in their flagship release “The Album” featuring various artists. Alex Gimeno of Ursula 1000 was in with engineer/producer Eli Janney working with Joe to master his new record “Mystics”. Joe also mastered the cast recording of the Broadway musical “The Marvelous Wonderettes”.

Other recent projects include: Caravan Of Theives, The Capsules, Social Distortion, Stamina Entertainment, Soga (Toussaint), Dimple Nandra, Megan Chasky, ADULT., Electric Six, Desperate Union, Greg Koons, Hour Block, City and Colour, Nkatha, and Gruve.

With the reemergence of vinyl records we are now doing a lot of our mastering projects to vinyl, as well as CD and digital. Joe is in the middle of a large reissue project for vinyl including: Earth, Wind, & Fire; Lou Reed; Billie Holiday; Cheap Trick; Herbie Hancock; Steve Vai; Joe Satriani; Insane Clown Posse; ...and others.

We encourage artists and producers to attend sessions any time they can. “It’s always fun to have the artist and producers here. That’s one of the reasons we built such a comfortable client friendly room where we did” says Joe.

For those who don’t attend, todays technology does makes it easier to hear your results quickly. We can securely transfer files to and from you via our FTP server.

We look forward to working together on your project.

A second tier of mastering services is also an option -- Roman Vail has been apprenticing with Joe over the last two years and is already making clients happy with the same commitment to the craft. All projects big or small are welcome and treated with the best of care.
